Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classique
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was born in 1931 for British officers who needed a watch that could survive a chukka of polo in colonial India, and it answered that sporting problem with pure Art Deco engineering: a rectangular case that pivots on its carriage to hide the dial behind a blank metal panel. Reference 250.8.08 belongs to the modern revival of the line, the steel quartz Reverso Classique that carried the design through the late 1980s and 1990s, keeping the original 1931 proportions while turning the watch into an everyday dress piece.
The dial is the canonical Reverso face: clean white, framed by the stepped Art Deco bezel, with painted Arabic numerals and matching hands. The 38x23 mm rectangular steel case with its slim profile slides easily under a cuff. It comes on a black leather strap with a polished steel pin buckle. The reverse panel carries a personal monogram, a private dedication from a previous owner that adds a discreet trace of provenance.
