Cartier Panthère

The Cartier Panthère arrived in the mid 1980s as the maison's answer to a wristwatch that moves easily from office to evening. The two-tone steel and gold execution quickly became the signature look of the line, with the familiar Cartier silhouette of a softly squared case, a smooth bezel and a bracelet that wears more like jewellery than hardware. Reference 1120 in the 22mm size belongs to this enduring family, scaled for a slender wrist.

This example pairs a warm cream dial with painted Roman numerals and matching hands, framed by the smooth two-tone bezel that defines the model. The blue cabochon crown sits neatly at three, a jewel-like detail that has always set the Panthère apart from more conventional dress watches. The integrated bracelet alternates polished steel centre links with 18k yellow gold outer links and closes with a Cartier folding deployant clasp in the same two-tone finish, so the whole piece reads as one continuous ornament rather than a watch on a strap.

Condition is very good, with a clean, well preserved cream dial and a case that has kept its elegant proportions. The original Cartier box is included.
