Patek Philippe Lady

A 15 mm square of 18k rose gold, worked into a gold bracelet without a visible break, makes this vintage Patek Philippe reference 3086/6 read first as a bracelet and only then as a watch. The 3086 family belongs to the gold cocktail watches Patek Philippe made through the 1950s and 1960s, pieces designed to be worn like jewellery.

This hand-wound example dates from 1957, the year recorded on its original Patek Philippe warranty paper. The cream dial is set with indices and matching hands. It is double-signed, carrying the name of the retailer who first sold the watch alongside Patek Philippe's own. The bracelet closes with a gold folding clasp whose cover is textured to match the links, so the gold runs in one continuous line around the wrist. At this scale the watch slips as easily under an evening sleeve as it sits beside a crisp shirt cuff.

The watch is offered with the original Patek Philippe warranty paper dated 1957 together with papers from Gobbi, and Gobbi service papers from 1975. The dial shows light spotting toward its edges, and the hour markers have darkened with oxidation, a soft patina that belongs to a dial of the 1950s. The bracelet links carry light surface wear, and fine scratches cross the brushed case back. The case shows minor signs of wear consistent with regular use.
