Rolex Lady-Datejust

The Lady-Datejust reference 69173 is the two-tone evolution of Rolex's longest-running ladies' line, introduced in 1988 with a steel Oyster case, an 18k yellow gold fluted bezel and matching gold centre links on the Jubilee bracelet. The champagne dial paired with two-tone construction came to define the Rolex aesthetic of the late 1980s and early 1990s, and remains one of the most recognisable configurations of the reference.

This particular Lady-Datejust left the workshop in 1990, among the early years of the reference. The 26 mm Oyster case is topped by the gold fluted bezel and a screw-down crown, with the date framed at three. Warm champagne sets the tone across the dial, where applied gold indices and matching hands read clearly against the soft metallic ground.

Inside runs the calibre 2135, the automatic movement that powered the Lady-Datejust through this generation. The watch is fitted on its original two-tone Jubilee bracelet in steel and 18k yellow gold, secured by the Rolex folding clasp that has accompanied this reference for over thirty years.
